Computer forensic jobs are the newest forms of opportunities presented by the Internet. With the advent of the World Wide Web, opportunities which would have been considered unthinkable in just few decades back have become the norm. Distance does not exist again as far as getting a job is concerned.

It is the new job on the market and it has the potential to grow at a rate unimaginable. Businesses and law enforcement agents alike have the need for these kinds of specialists.
Their Job
So what does a computer forensic specialist do? Basically, they are investigators who solve crimes committed through the various computer platforms – PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, smartphones , PDAs and the likes.
The Scope of their Training
Some universities have started giving specialized courses in computer forensics. Under computer forensic jobs, there are several sub categories. They are trained to specialize in either preventing or solving computer crimes.
For instance corporations who intend to test the security of their network or systems may hire a computer forensic specialist to mimic hacking into the system. Because of the advanced knowledge that they have about the computer, such people can help identify flaws and loopholes in the system. The approach will save the company money because it will prevent the security from being breached in the future.
How they do their Work
Computer forensic experts basically recover deleted and tampered data from the system in their investigation. They are also trained to be able detect when a system has been tampered with. Their testimonies are often accepted in court. That makes them very useful to the law enforcement agencies including the military.
Prerequisite
To be considered for training as a computer forensic expert in some of the institutions who teach the course, one must have a degree in a field related to computer security. The training is mainly centered on advance studies of NT and the UNIX systems. A good knowledge of the law and investigation is needed to be recruited into the law enforcement agencies.
Future
Because it is an emerging career, very few spots are currently advertized but analysts say it has the potential to grow into a mega career in the future as the influence of the Internet grows.
Computer forensic jobs look very promising. With the growth of the Internet and the technologies that are currently being released, it will not be a bad idea to consider a career in the field. Some of the schools offering the course in the United States are American InterContinental University, South University and Virginia College.
